Amazon marked Global Community Engagement Day by giving back to those in need.

The online retailer's RNO4 team partnered with the KT Grace Foundation, assembling 150 "cozy kits" to help the community.

Amazon workers packed cold weather essentials like beanies, wool socks, fleece throws and tumblers into backpacks.

The KT Grace Foundation directed those kits to people most in need, according to a release from Amazon.

"Engaging with and giving back to our community is at the heart of what we do. This collaboration is a reflection of our commitment to those principles," said Kimberly Weingartner, Founder of the KT Grace Foundation.

Nearly 1,700 people are unhoused in northern Nevada.

In a statement Amazon said their "cozy kits" represent a modest yet meaningful step to support the community's broader needs.
