Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada received a major donation from people behind Protech Solutions, Inc., a gift that arrived as food needs continue to rise across the region.
The contribution came from Nagaraj and Satish Garimalla and is set to support St. Vincent’s Food Pantry at a time when families are feeling the effects of SNAP disruptions and growing food insecurity.
Catholic Charities said the gift allowed the nonprofit to expand its Thanksgiving Gathering Together meal kits and Fork Ready meals through its Client Choice Pantries. Those efforts delivered more than 240,000 meals to people and families across Northern Nevada.
“The generous gift comes at a critical moment,” said Marie Baxter, CEO of Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada. “The Garimalla family’s commitment affirms our mission to serve vulnerable neighbors with dignity and compassion.”
Catholic Charities serves nearly 40,000 people each month, an impact the Garimalla family said stood out to them as they looked for ways to give back.
“We are deeply moved by the scale of CCNN’s impact. Serving nearly 40,000 individuals each month is extraordinary, and we are proud to support their work for families in need,” said Satish and Nagaraj Garimalla.
Catholic Charities thanked the Garimalla family and Protech Solutions, Inc. for strengthening the region’s food safety net during a season when demand remains high.
