No injuries were reported after a Jeep caught fire along I-80 near Fernley early Thursday morning.
Just before 7 a.m., North Lyon Fire crews responded to the fully engulfed Grand Cherokee, on I-80 west near mile marker 53, about five miles east of Fernley.
Firefighters say everyone got of the car before they arrived.
Fire crews stopped the fire from spreading to nearby vegetation, but the fire did create a huge column of smoke.
There's no immediate word on how the fire started.
"Thank you to Nevada State Police who stopped traffic east of the scene so our responders could safely approach from the west," North Lyon Fire says on Facebook.
