The Carson High School Blue Thunder Marching Band took top honors in their AA division at the 44th Annual Sierra Band Crusade.
The Sierra Band Crusade is northern Nevada's marching band championships, taking place on Saturday, November 9 at Mackay Stadium, on the campus of the University of Nevada, Reno.
The win brings the band their sixth victory, with previous wins coming in 1982, 2003, 2005, 2021 and 2022.
The band finished with a score of 81.6, the highest score the band has achieved in almost 20 years. In addition, they won all the caption awards in their division, including Outstanding Music, Outstanding Visual and Outstanding Color Guard.
For anyone wishing to see the award-winning presentation, the band has posted it to their YouTube channel.
The marching band will be extending their season this year, as they have been invited to perform at the Chicago Thanksgiving Day Parade - the second-largest Thanksgiving parade in the nation.
This year, the Chicago parade will be aired live on Pluto TV, Paramount’s free streaming service, for anyone who wishes to spectate from home.
