The Churchill County Sheriff's Office is warning of a scam involving fraudulent invoices claiming to be from the county.
The invoices tell recipients they owe money for services from the county, according to a post on Facebook from the CCSO.
There have also been emails sent attempting the same scam.
The notices and emails advise the recipient to communicate only by email and to wire the money. Neither way is standard practice for Churchill County.
