Churchill County is warning people about a new scam affecting locals.

The scam targets people who are working on new developments in Churchill County.

It asks them to finish processing development applications by wiring funds to a separate account.

County officials say they will never ask for payment other than cash, check, or card at their office or online portal.

Requests for anything different are scams and should be reported to the Sheriff's Office at (775) 423-3116.
