The former Chief Executive Officer of Silver State Health Services appeared in court on Friday on embezzlement charges in a case that also involves a real estate investor.
Former SSHS CEO David Ryan Linden, 36, allegedly embezzled more than $2 million of federal grant money intended for the health care center to provide health care items, benefits, and services to indigent persons in Las Vegas alongside 53-year-old Rich Kiran Saga, a real estate investor who affiliated himself with SSHS.
A release from the Department of Justice alleges that between June of 2019 and April of 2022, Linden and Saga conspired to engage in a scheme to steal money belonging to SSHS.
The pair allegedly funneled grant money belonging to SSHS into bank accounts controlled by the defendants.
They then allegedly used the stolen grant money to purchase commercial real estate properties.
A federal grand jury returned the 13-count superseding indictment on May 13, 2025, charging Linden and Saga each with one count of conspiracy to commit offense against the United States; six counts of federal program theft; one count of conspiracy to violate Sections 1956 and 1957; two counts of money laundering; two counts of money transactions in criminally derived property; and one count of false document.
A jury trial is set to begin on December 2 of this year.
If convicted, Linden and Saga each face the maximum statutory penalty of 121 months in prison.Â
