Girls on the Run Sierras is launching its 2026 Camp GOTR summer program, offering girls in Reno and Carson City a week-long experience that blends movement, creativity, and life skills with the fun of summer camp.

The program is open to girls ages 8–12 and is designed to help participants explore their strengths, practice skills that support healthy friendships, and make positive choices. Each day features games, hands-on activities, and group challenges.

Two Camp GOTR sessions are planned for 2026:

  • Reno: July 20–24, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Reno High School, with Curiosity Classroom sessions in the afternoons through a partnership with PBS Reno

  • Carson City: August 3–7, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Eagle Valley Middle School

Registration fees are on a sliding scale, so families can select the level that works best for them. Spots are limited and expected to fill quickly. In addition to registering campers, Girls on the Run Sierras is inviting the public to join as coaches or event support volunteers. Camp GOTR coaches and volunteers guide girls through activities with encouragement and support.

Girls on the Run Sierras, a 501c3 non-profit established in California in 2007 and Nevada in 2011, has reached over 7,200 Reno-Tahoe girls. Trained volunteer coaches facilitate lessons combining physical activity with life skill development, including managing emotions, fostering friendships, and expressing empathy.
