Northern Nevada HOPES has received a $984,000 grant from Washoe County in support of a new opioid treatment program.
This program is expected to launch at the Jerry Smith Community Wellness Center on East 4th Street.
The funding will expand HOPES Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) services, which provides care to underserved people in our community.
MAT is a method combining FDA-approved medications with counseling and behavioral therapies to address opioid use.
With this expansion, HOPES furthers its mission of providing inclusive, patient-centered care to all who need it, regardless of background or financial circumstances to 200 patients a year.
"We are so grateful to the County for entrusting us with this grant to expand MAT services in our new 4th Street Clinic. This grant will allow us to continue to provide quality care in an under-resourced area to individuals who otherwise might not have access to care," said Kayla Shannon, MAT Coordinator at Northern Nevada HOPES. "We are honored to receive this grant, alongside the other programs who are also making a difference in our city. Together, we can continue to inspire hope."
