The Tahoe Knights Monsters and the ECHLÂ say all of its players are being forced to go on strike, causing them to postpone Saturday night's game in Rapid City, South Dakota.
The union, however, is making a stance for what they're trying to achieve.
PHPA, the union, says because of the leagues unfair labor practices, they are forced to strike in order to protect the integrity of the bargaining process.
Executive Director Brian Ramsey of PHPA also says for several months, they have been engaging in talks with the league. Ramsey also added they are ready to negotiate, and to mitigate any disruptions of the season.

According to the ECHL's website, it made its final offer on Christmas Day.
The league said, "We strongly encouraged union leadership to submit our offer to a vote of its membership, but we do not believe that happened."
The Knight Monsters hopes to have a team ready to play its next scheduled game.
