There will be lane reductions taking place on U.S. Highway 50 in the Dayton area starting next week.

The closures will be taking place between January 21 and 31 as the Nevada Department of Transportation fills cracks on the roadway's surface.

The project will cause single-lane closures between 9:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on weekdays during the affected dates.

The closures will happen in a rolling work zone, meaning one lane will be reduced in one-mile sections at a time.

Any drivers in the area are being advised to leave extra travel time, and to expect delays.

The road work schedule is subject to change, and officials say lane reductions may be seen on nearby section of U.S. 50 in future weeks, weather-depending.
