An investigation is underway after a report of an active shooter at Sierra-at-Tahoe Ski Resort in Twin Bridges ended up being a false alarm.
Officers from the California Highway Patrol, South Lake Tahoe Police Department and Deputies from the El Dorado Sheriff's Office responded just after 2 p.m. Saturday.
When they arrived, it was quickly determined the report was false. The source of that report has not been released.
In a statement posted on Facebook, the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office wrote, "The El Dorado County Sheriff's Office wishes to thank our local law enforcement partners for their quick response and their commitment to the safety of our community and those who visit. We also wish to the thank the staff of Sierra-at-Tahoe for their commitment to the safety and well-being of their guests."
