Remembering 9/11

Multiple events will be held on Thursday in remembrance of the events of September 11, 2001.

The Reno-Tahoe International Airport will hold a brief ceremony in conjunction with Honor Flight Nevada starting at 6 a.m. on Thursday.

The gathering will bring together veterans, first responders, airport personnel, and community members for a moment of reflection and unity.

Chaplain Jerome Washington will lead a reflection, and remarks will be given by Army veteran Daren Griffin, who is also the President/CEO of the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority.

There will also be a patriotic performance by 8-year-old violin prodigy Juliette Leong.

Meanwhile, the City of Fallon will be holding an event of their own starting at 10 a.m. in the City Hall Courtyard.

Fallon Mayor Ken Tedford will be joined by Councilmembers Kelly Frost, Karla Kent, and Paul Harmon at the event.

Captain Andrew P. Mariner will be a guest speaker.
