Lyon County Search and Rescue 2025 Project Life Vest

In an online Facebook post, the Lyon County Sheriff's Office stated that the first 2025 Project Life Vest Event for its Search and Rescue Team will be held at Lake Lahontan from Saturday, May 24 to Monday, May 26.

The Lyon County Search and Rescue team gave more than 250 life jackets at Lake Lahontan last year, and they intend to distribute even more this year, according to the post.

The public is welcome to visit the lake, meet the SAR crew, and get a complimentary life jacket for their kids.

To make sure all kids under 13 are appropriately outfitted for water safety, the crew will be at the lake throughout the event.

A complimentary water safety vest will be given to kids 13 years of age or younger.

Vests will only be available while supplies last, so act quickly.

The event coincides with the last day of National Boating Safety Week, which this year ran from May 17 to May 23, and the start of the busiest boating season during Memorial Day weekend.
