A Lyon County student faces charges after making alleged school threats.
Lyon County deputies say they were alerted to a 'serious' threat made by a student at Dayton Intermediate School, around 6 p.m. on Wednesday.
"The student's message to peers and staff was to 'not come to school tomorrow,' insinuating a potential school shooting," Lyon County says in a Facebook post.
Deputies, along with the Lyon County School District, questioned the identified student and says that the student confirmed the remarks.
As of now, the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office says it has confirmed that there is no ongoing threat to the public, schools, or staff members.
"The safety and security of all students and staff remain a paramount concern, and measures are in place to ensure a secure environment," says the sheriff's office.
The investigation remains ongoing, with several involved witnesses, the sheriff's office says.
"Due to the sensitive nature of the case and the ages of those involved, further details cannot be disclosed at this time."
