Reno Police have arrested a suspect in a shooting that happened in downtown Reno on Wednesday morning, where the suspect ended up shooting himself.

Police responded to the shooting at around 10 a.m. in the area of 3rd Street and West Street, according to a release from the Reno Police Department.

The suspect, identified as Adam Moore, as well as the victim, were both quickly found.

Investigators determined that Moore was walking his dog when he crossed paths with the victim.

An argument happened and escalated into a fight, according to the release.

During the fight, police say Moore got a gun and fired one shot, hitting himself.

Moore was taken to the hospital for treatment and was then arrested.

He was booked on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, carrying a concealed weapon without a permit, and discharging a firearm in a congested area.

Nobody else was hit or injured, and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
