Deputies have arrested a man accused of domestic battery in Incline Village.

Deputies say the victim reported the incident to authorities early Wednesday morning.

When deputies arrived on scene, they learned that the suspect, 33-year-old Clayton Zechman had previously left the area.

Several hours later, deputies found Zechman's empty car hidden in the trees off of Highway 28 and told the victim about the discovery. Because Zechman was still missing, they say the woman told them she didn't feel safe entering her home and requested a deputy escort.

When they entered, they found Zechman and took him into custody

Zechman was booked into the Washoe County Detention Facility with the following charges:

* Domestic Battery (1st)

* Preventing/Dissuading Reporting of a Crime

* False Imprisonment

* Resist a Public Officer
