A muddy off-road outing prompted CHP Truckee to remind drivers about the importance of knowing terrain conditions before heading into remote areas.
According to CHP Truckee in an online post, “Sunday Funday…Cyber Muddin’ Edition…Nothing says Sunday Funday quite like testing your limits…and finding out the mud had other plans.”
The agency reminded drivers that conditions can quickly change in off-road environments.
“We’ve said it once, and we’ll say it before.. “ Know your terrain before going out and exploring,” the post said. “Just because your vehicle can go somewhere doesn’t always mean it should.”
The post closed with a warning about conditions in muddy terrain.
“Stay safe out there… mud still wins. Every. Single. Time.”
Officials continue to encourage drivers to plan ahead and understand terrain conditions before heading out into off-road areas.
