Congressman Steven Horsford

Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada's Meals on Wheels in Las Vegas delivers meals to senior citizens stuck at home.

Congressman Steven Horsford joined Catholic Charities of Southern on November 7, after the Trump Administration announced they would only fund SNAP benefits for November.

“In the richest country in the world, it is unconscionable that a presidential administration would work so hard to see its own citizens go hungry,” Congressmen Steven Horsford said. “I am glad that they relented to public pressure and urge them to work with House Democrats to cancel the harmful cuts to SNAP and other vital service.

The Congressmen also said, “I was honored to join Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada today to make sure some of our most vulnerable neighbors have food on the table tonight,” Horsford continued. “I want to thank the dedicated drivers who make sure nearly 2,200 homebound seniors in our community have meals to count on each week – more than 700,000 meals every year.”

Congressman Steven Horsford has been a critic of Trump Administration 's handling of the SNAP program during the government shutdown.
