Artificial intelligence is transforming our landscape and presenting challenges for all levels of society, including state governments.
This week, the Nevada Governor's Office announced a policy for the responsible and ethical use of artificial intelligence.
The policy attempts to establish a comprehensive outline for ensuring that the design and development of AI is informed by collaborative dialogues with stakeholders from a variety of agencies.
It also aims to protect Nevadans from unintended impacts of AI and from abusive data practices.
The policy outlines the Governor's Office's ability to govern other agencies' use of AI and ensures that AI is being used in a fair and equitable way.
The policy was developed by the State Technology Governance Committee and is currently being implemented by the state's Chief Information Officer.
