The Nevada Housing Division’s Weatherization Assistance Program provides energy efficiency upgrades at no direct cost to income-qualified households across the state.
The initiative aims to lower utility bills, conserve energy, and improve the health and safety of homes.
Households earning at or below 200 percent of the federal poverty level, as defined by the U.S. Office of Management and Budget, may be eligible.
The program is open to both homeowners and renters. Owners of eligible rental properties may be responsible for half of the cost of capital improvements.
Once a licensed energy auditor completes an assessment, qualifying homes may receive several energy-saving improvements.
Common upgrades include air sealing to reduce drafts, installation of LED lighting, added insulation, low-flow shower heads, solar screens, and weather-stripping on doors and windows.
Additional repairs or replacements, such as HVAC systems, refrigerators, or water heaters, may also be provided based on program guidelines.
These measures are selected to improve comfort and safety while helping households reduce monthly utility expenses.
The Nevada Housing Division partners with nonprofit agencies to deliver the program statewide.
