AUGUST 25, 12:47 P.M. UPDATE:

Governor Lombardo ordered all state offices closed Monday today due to “significant state network degradation affecting the ability to conduct normal business."

The FBI is helping with the investigation.

The governor's office says, "we anticipate resuming normal business tomorrow."

All DMV appointments scheduled for Monday will be honored as walk-ins over the next two weeks.

The incident was discovered early Sunday morning and remains under investigation.

State representatives add, "at this time, there is no evidence that any personally identifiable information (PII) was compromised. The State will share verified information when appropriate."

ORIGINAL STORY:

The State of Nevada is continuing recovery from an early-morning network security incident.

To minimize disruption while technical teams restore normal operations, state offices will temporarily pause in-person services today. During recovery, certain websites, online services, and office phone lines may be slow or briefly unavailable; 911 emergency call-taking remains available statewide.

The Governor’s Technology Office operates 24/7, and teams are actively restoring service in coordination with agency partners. Because the state monitors systems around the clock, the public may see updates outside normal business hours.

What this means for Nevadans

* Offices will not offer in-person services today. Agencies will announce when counters reopen and any alternative options.

* State websites and phone lines may be intermittently unavailable. If a site or line does not respond, please try again later.

* NHP and the Dispatch phone lines are working and in service. Administrative in-office and Online services will not be available Monday due to a statewide network issue.

* Emergencies: Call 911. For non-emergency questions, check the relevant agency’s website or use email.

What the State is doing

* Working continuously with state, local, and federal partners to restore services safely.

* Using temporary routing and operational workarounds to maintain public access where feasible.

* Validating systems before returning them to normal operation and sharing updates as needed.
