A lawsuit by the state of Nevada against social media platform Snapchat's parent company will move forward after the Nevada Supreme Court denied a writ petition appeal.
The Nevada Attorney General's Office says the petition argued that Snapchat should be immune from litigation because it did not specifically direct its business toward Nevada consumers.
Attorney General Aaron Ford says the lawsuit aims to hold the company accountable for alleged harms to children in Nevada.
"Today's decision sends a clear message: tech companies cannot evade accountability when Nevada's children are harmed," said Ford on social media.Â
