Demolition has officially started on the future home of the Food Bank of Northern Nevada’s Rural Food Hub in Elko. In a social media post, the Food Bank says the food distribution project will “strengthen food access in northeastern Nevada.”

While the hub will start by supporting Elko, the plan is for the facility to grow over time and serve White Pine, Eureka, and Lander counties as well.

The project is being made possible in part through funding from the Nevada Department of Agriculture.
