A Reno teenager is in the running for Youth Athlete of the Year, and he needs community support to move on to the next round.
Jacob, who lives in the North Valleys, is competing in a national contest that recognizes young athletes for their dedication, competitive spirit, and leadership.
The winner will be featured in a 3BRAND advertisement in Sports Illustrated and receive $25,000 to help build their future.
Jacob has played baseball since T-ball, progressing through the local Cal Ripken league and now competing with the 13U Northern Nevada Aggies. He also plays on a second team and is known for his strong work ethic and passion for the game.
He says his love for baseball comes from the friendships he’s made, the thrill of competition, and his dream of one day playing professionally. He credits former San Francisco Giants catcher Buster Posey as a role model for how to lead both on and off the field.
Jacob must finish first in his group by Wednesday, September 4, to advance to the quarterfinals.
Northern Nevada, Jacob needs your vote. Don’t wait, help him reach the next round!
