A jury has convicted Jasper Jackson Jr. III of two counts of Failure to Obey Laws and Regulations of Sex Offenders.
The Washoe County District Attorney's Office says Jackson was a previous coach and volunteer at a local boxing club, and the owner was unaware that he was a Tier II sex offender when he was first brought on in 2023. Detectives with the Regional Sex Offender Notification Unit (RSONU) were contacted in March of 2025 by a local community member who was also a volunteer with USA Boxing, after members of the boxing community learned about Jackson’s sex offender status.
Prosecutors say law enforcement learned that Jackson had used a fake date of birth and address on paperwork with USA Boxing, had not disclosed to RSONU that he was coaching and volunteering with the boxing club, and was also living at a second address that he had not disclosed.
Sentencing is set for June 15th where he faces up to four years in prison on each count.
