A group of high school volunteer bellringers raising funds for The Salvation Army’s annual Red Kettle Campaign were robbed Wednesday night in Carson City.
It happened at the Walmart on U.S. 395 just after 5 p.m. when one of the students stepped inside and momentarily left the kettle unattended according to a release from the Salvation Army.
Walmart is reviewing security camera footage and a police report has been filed.
The students are all members of the ROTC at Carson City High School. They have been volunteering every night this week, and plan to continue volunteering next week.
