Nevada Museum of Art generic

(October 10, 2022) Are you passionate about painting? Crazy about ceramics? Do you dream about digital illustration, making jewelry, writing poetry or creating short films?

No matter your calling, The Nevada Museum of Art is calling all teen artists in Northern Nevada to submit your original artwork to the nation’s longest-running art competition, the Scholastic Art Awards, which is celebrating its 100th year in 2023.

From film to fashion, architecture to photography - and every medium in between - students are encouraged to upload their unique art projects now through the deadline on Thursday, December 15, 2022 in order to be considered for the 2023 award year.

The Nevada Museum of Art has hosted the Scholastic Art Awards for over a quarter century, and for the third year, will partner with the University of Nevada, Reno, School of the Arts, and College of Liberal Arts to present the exhibition and award ceremony.

Winning artworks will be exhibited at the Sheppard Contemporary Gallery in the Church Fine Arts Complex on the UNR Main Campus February 6 - March 4, 2023.

The close partnership between the Nevada Museum of Art and UNR is a part of a larger initiative of both institutions to perpetuate and support arts education in the state of Nevada.
