A suspect was taken into custody on Monday after a kidnapping on Sunday.
Reno Police responded to Saint Mary's Hospital around 4:30 a.m. on Sunday to find a woman who had been kidnapped, with her wrists zip-tied, according to a release from the RPD.
She managed to escape from the suspect's moving pick-up truck, described as a black 2025 GMC Sierra, where she was then assisted by a passerby in the area of Ralston Street and I-80, according to a spokesperson for the Reno Police Department.
The department's Robbery Homicide Unit took over the investigation, and on Monday, found the GMC Sierra and took 35-year-old Diego Ortega Noria into custody on charges of second-degree kidnapping and false imprisonment.
He was booked into the Washoe County Jail.
Detectives think Noria might have targeted other potential victims in the past and are working to determine the full extent of his actions.
Police are asking people to review the pictures of the suspect and the truck included with this story.
