For the third year in a row, the Sierra Battle Born Chapter of the non-profit group 'Women in Aviation' held the 'Girls in Aviation Day'.
The event was at maximum capacity, and many of the girls we spoke with were very excited for the opportunity.
One member with the Sierra Battle Born Chapter says she loves being able to share her experience with others and show the girls in attendance the possibilities that are available to them.
"So that is what we like to do; we like to bring all sorts of role models, not just military pilots, we've got medical pilots, engineers, we have robotics, anything that has to do with aviation or things surrounding aviation," said Rebecca Calder, President, Sierra Battle Born Chapter of Women in Aviation.
During the event, attendees were able to check out a variety of aircraft, and even hear from the pilots about the types of jobs they have.
There were also informational booths inside the airport terminal, where girls could even dive deeper into the different career paths in aviation.
Many attendees we spoke with feel like they learned a lot today, and they hope to go after their dream job someday.
"Sometime in my life I might become a military pilot for F-16s, F-35s, maybe any new military aircraft," said Amelia Klein.
"I'm interested in aerospace engineering, but I would also be interested in being a mechanic," said Bebe Kiel.
Next year, the Sierra Battle Born chapter hope to expand the event to allow more girls to learn about the possibilities in aviation.
