A truck passenger is dead after a multi-car crash on U.S. 6 west of Ely in White Pine County.Â
Nevada State Police troopers say the crash happened just after 6:30 a.m. on November 26th on U.S. 6 near mile marker 31.Â
NSP says a yellow International box truck was heading east on U.S. 6 while a white Freightliner garbage truck was heading west with a gray Ford F-150 pickup following behind.
NSP says the International driver lost control in the snowy conditions, crossed into the centerline and went into the opposite direction hitting the Freightliner head-on. As a result, the Ford driver turned to try to miss the crash but ended up hitting the right rear side of the Freightliner, then turned around and went off the roadway.
NSP says the passenger inside the International, 38-year-old Lisandra Guardia died on scene. They say the driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the truck, suffering minor injuries.
The driver and passenger inside the Freightliner were transported from the scene for claimed injuries.
The Ford driver was treated in scene for minor injuries.
