Truckee Meadows Tomorrow's (TMT) Accentuate the Positive event honors nonprofits, public entities and people who use data to bring change in the Truckee Meadows.
TMT says, "In a year marked by uncertainty and funding cuts for nonprofits and charitable efforts, the event offers the community an opportunity to highlight and recognize the critical role nonprofits play in improving quality of life."
Award contenders span a diverse cross-section of organizations, from public safety and health to the arts and education, demonstrating how data informs solutions to some of the region’s toughest challenges, according to TMT.
People who are up for awards are based off of TMT’s 10 quality of life indicators, featured in the organization’s biennial Community Progress Report.
One person will be given the Lynn Atcheson Award, named after Truckee Meadows Tomorrow’s founder.
TMT says the Lynn Atcheson award is to honor a leader whose commitment is to improve the region.
Organizers also said, "Award contenders give a diverse cross-section of organizations, from public safety and health to the arts and education, demonstrating how data informs solutions to some of the region’s toughest challenges."
