A crash on southbound I-580 outside of Bowers Mansion has sent two to the hospital and backed up traffic Saturday afternoon.
A Jeep full of University of Nevada, Reno students hit the retaining wall for an unknown reason, causing the car to roll over.
The car landed upside down, pinning the driver's arm under the vehicle.
According to Nevada State Police, bystanders were able to move the car enough to unpin her arm before first responders arrived.
The driver was transported to the hospital with a head wound; a male passenger was also transported with facial injuries.
Officials say that speed was a factor, but impaired driving is not suspected.
The two left lanes on the southbound side of the interstate have been blocked due to the crash. Officials are asking drivers to use caution in the area while first responders help and clear the crash, or to use an alternate route.
