The Walmart Heart Team is a team that helps children and adults in the community with chronic illness or medical conditions.
This quarter the Heart Team selected local 8-year-old Sean Tracy, who has MECp2 duplication syndrome.
This syndrome is rare - less than 500 boys in the world have it, and there is no cure for it at this time.
According to a release from the Heart Team, Sean has been participating in clinical trials recently, is non-verbal, and attends therapy sessions each week.
Sean was celebrated in a ceremony on Saturday at the Sparks Marina - he and his family were given a police escort from the Walmart Distribution Center in McCarren over to the Marina.
Even with the rain trying to spoil the fun, the crew still tried to make the best of it.
