The superintendent of the Lyon County School District is resigning. 

Wayne Workman, who has been with the district for 17 years, announced his resignation at Tuesday's Board of Trustees meeting.

Workman attended the meeting via Zoom, and read his letter of resignation to the board.

He said in his letter that he is grateful for his time with the district and is honored he got to work alongside talented educators and the board.

He also said he was resigning to focus on his family.

His last day will be June 30th of next year.
