It's the first and only campaign debate in a New Jersey congressional race that's drawn much interest. Republican Tom Kean Jr. was away from the House for four months this year without explanation until he disclosed he was being treated for depression. His opponent is Democrat Rebecca Bennett. She's a political newcomer who's a former Navy pilot and also worked as a healthcare executive. The 7th Congressional District includes President Donald Trump’s Bedminster golf club. The district has changed party control in each of the past two midterm elections. The debate is Sunday night.
