U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner have arrived in Kyiv as part of a renewed push for peace after Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The trip by the Americans on Sunday follows a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow the previous day. That meeting lasted more than three hours but ended without breakthroughs. Kyiv has rejected Russia’s demand to withdraw from parts of eastern Ukraine. Washington’s efforts to end the fighting had lost momentum as U.S. attention focused on the Iran war. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed readiness for constructive talks. He emphasized the need for peace and security guarantees.
