Asian shares are trading mixed, as the enthusiasm over AI and other technology stocks gradually faded, braking Wall Street’s record-setting run. Benchmarks rose Wednesday in Tokyo, Seoul and Shanghai. In South Korea, the Kospi surged, recouping the plunge from earlier in the week on worries stemming from a government official's remark the government may redistribute windfall AI profits from companies to its citizens. Shares declined in Sydney and were little changed in Hong Kong. On Wall Street on Tuesday, the S&P 500 dipped 0.2% from its all-time high, the Dow Jones Industrial Average added 0.1% and the Nasdaq composite sank 0.7%.
