President Donald Trump is promising that the government wouldn’t limit the development of artificial intelligence, even as top executives of AI firms that have called for delays convene in Washington. The AI executives will have a lunch with Trump at the White House Tuesday. Trump’s confidence in AI is in sharp contrast to the alarms sounded by AI executives in recent days. Earlier this month, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei called for leading firms to slow down their development of the technology. On Friday, OpenAI said it would pause the training of its latest model as reports multiply of AI agents going rogue.
