Nevada Listed in Voluntary Recall of Dole Salad Kits

Dole is voluntarily recalling salad kits that may have been exposed to Listeria, and Nevada is among the states listed in the recall.

Listeria is an organism that can cause serious or fatal infections. It can also cause miscarriages and stillbirths in pregnant women.

Children, elderly people, and those with weakened immune systems are most at risk of serious symptoms. Healthy individuals may suffer from a high fever, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. 

The salad kits were sold across the United States, including in Nevada according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

The products in the recall include Dole, President's Choice and Marketside brands. Consumers who have any of these products are urged to discard them immediately.
