UPDATE - February 12:

Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo announced on Wednesday that he will be ordering American and Nevada flags to be flown at half-staff on Thursday.

Flags will be lowered from sunrise to sunset in honor of fallen North Las Vegas Police Officer Jason Roscow.

In a proclamation the governor said, "Officer Roscow's extraordinary courage and dedication to the safety of his community led to multiple commendations, including the prestigious Life Saving Award and several Meritorious Service Awards."

In a previous statement, Governor Lombardo offered prayers for Roscow's family.

The North Las Vegas Police Department has identified the officer fatally killed in a shooting on Tuesday. 

In an online post, NLVPD says with profound sadness they share the loss of one of their own.

On February 4, 2025, 46-year-old Officer Jason Roscow made the ultimate sacrifice while serving the North Las Vegas community.

NLVPD says Officer Roscow’s 17-year career began with their department in 2007. In 2013, he began working in their Traffic Division, where he earned the Exemplary Service Award for outstanding performance under challenging conditions.

The officer succumbed to his injuries at the hospital following the shooting. The suspect in the incident is also dead.

 
 

ORIGINAL STORY - February 4:

An officer with the North Las Vegas Police has died after being shot multiple times.

Our affiliate in Las Vegas reports that the officer succumbed to his injuries following the incident, which happened Tuesday afternoon.

Neither the officer nor the suspect have been identified by North Las Vegas Police.

The suspect in the shooting is dead as well.

Following the shooting the officer was taken to University Medical Center for treatment but died at the hospital.

Governor Joe Lombardo reacted to the shooting on social media, writing "Please join me in praying for this officer and their family."

The officer's condition is unknown. The suspect is reportedly dead.
