As part of Renown’s emergency management plan for any public disturbance, this lockdown was taken out of an abundance of caution and helps maintain safety by monitoring all entrances. A bullet hit a window of the emergency room, however, no bystanders on the Renown Regional campus were harmed. While Renown Health leaders work with law enforcement to investigate the scene of the crime, Renown’s emergency room physicians and healthcare workers remain ready to provide safe and excellent care for those in need of care. To keep the emergency room entrance clear, walk-ins are being routed to the nearby Tahoe Tower entrance and ambulances and helicopters continue to arrive with patients in typical fashion.”
