Sparks Police responded to 1600 Merchant Street for a grand theft auto involving a gun at 3 p.m. Friday.
Police say the suspect left before officers got there. He is described as a white or Hispanic, 6-foot tall man with facial hair. He is said to have been wearing a black sweater.
Officers later found the car with nobody inside at 2700 Elementary Drive and it was returned to the owner.
At this time there is no known danger to the public.
