I have spent more than 40 years working for NV Energy, giving me extensive knowledge of energy policy and the steps needed to maintain a reliable and adequate power grid. I also serve as president of the Caughlin Ranch Homeowners Association and have served on the City of Reno Parks and Recreation commission, Neighborhood advisory boards and spent 17 years with Sierra Nevada Community Aquatics getting the new pool built at the Moana site. These experiences have strengthened my ability to listen to residents, understand their concerns, and turn their priorities into effective public policy.

WHAT IS YOUR TOP PRIORITY IF ELECTED?

My top priority will be strengthening Nevada’s economy by attracting skilled, well-paying jobs that allow families to build secure futures in our state.

IN JUST A FEW SENTENCES: WHAT DO YOU BELIEVE IS THE BIGGEST PROBLEM FACING OUR STATE, AND HOW WOULD YOU FIX IT?

The economy is the biggest problem facing Nevadans because it affects housing, affordability, healthcare outcomes, and nearly every other part of our lives. Nevada must attract more than just jobs. We must attract skilled, well-paying careers that create long-term economic opportunities and a stronger future for our region.

CONSUMER PRICES, GAS PRICES, AND HOUSING COSTS ARE HISTORICALLY HIGH, WHILE WAGES HAVE NOT KEPT PACE IN NEVADA. WHAT IS YOUR PLAN TO HELP NEVADANS WHO ARE STRUGGLING FINANCIALLY?

The difficult truth is that there is no overnight solution to Nevada’s affordability crisis, but we can make decisions today that create a more affordable future. That begins with improving education, expanding career and technical training, and recognizing that college is not the only path to success. Nevada must prepare students for skilled trades and other well-paying careers.
Government must also control its spending and avoid placing additional taxes and fees on families already struggling to make ends meet. Nevada should reduce its dependence on California for fuel by developing a more reliable fuel supply, including a new pipeline. Fuel prices also affect the cost of transporting food and other goods, meaning high gas prices contribute directly to higher grocery bills.

WHERE DO YOU STAND ON THE RAPID DEVELOPMENT OF AI, AND THE PROLIFERATION OF DATA CENTERS? WHAT ROLE DO YOU SEE NEVADA TAKING IN EACH?

Nevada should welcome innovation in artificial intelligence and the economic opportunities it can create, but data centers must be carefully and responsibly regulated. Most people share the same basic goals: protecting residents, preventing increases in energy costs, conserving water, controlling noise and heat, and keeping heavy industrial facilities away from residential neighborhoods.
I support requiring closed-loop cooling systems, independent power supplies, heat-mitigation measures, strict noise limits, and appropriate heavy-industrial zoning. With strong regulations, Nevada can protect its residents and natural resources while benefiting from the jobs and tax revenue this growing industry can provide. Storey County’s projected tax growth demonstrates the potential economic benefits when development is handled responsibly.

Assembly District 25 is a moderate district currently represented by the most liberal legislator in the state, and I am a responsible, commonsense candidate who will fight to remove radical politics from the Nevada Legislature.
