The Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe hosted their third annual Autism Awareness Walk/Run on Saturday.
The event took place at the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe Museum, along with the Nevada Center for Autism and Neurodevelopment (NvCAN).
Participants were able to walk or run a 5k, 3k or 1k, and the first 200 participants received a free t-shirt.Â
The event also helped families learn the signs of autism so they can get assessments, diagnosis and support for children through NvCAN and other programs.
There will be another Autism Awareness Walk/Run on Friday, April 19 at 10 a.m. at the Duckwater Reservation for the Shoshone Tribe.
