Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from the Leapfrog Group; an independent non-profit watchdog group focused on patient safety.
It’s the highest safety mark that can be awarded.
Leapfrog assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country based on over 30 performance measures of errors, accidents, injuries, and infections, as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent them.
Leah Binder, President and CEO of Leapfrog says, “An ‘A’ Grade is a strong sign that Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center is deeply committed to protecting patients from harm. We commend the leadership, board, clinicians, staff, and volunteers for the role each played in earning this distinction.”
Derrick Glum, Chief Executive Officer of Saint Mary’s Health Network said in a press release, “This Leapfrog ‘A’ Grade affirms Saint Mary’s position at the forefront of patient safety and clinical excellence - not only in northern Nevada, but among all hospitals nationwide.”
