Some voters in Washoe County may have received a mail-in ballot after opting out of receiving them.
A spokesperson from the Office of the County Manager gave the following statement:
"We neglected to remove voters who had opted out of receiving a mail-in ballot from our mailing list, so some voters who opted out have inadvertently received a ballot. We want to remind voters that they have a choice to vote by mail or in person, and if they wish to vote in person, they can simply destroy their ballot at home or surrender it at our office. Action has been taken so this will not occur in the General Election in November."
