This story is for all the food lovers in our area looking for a new place to check out.

Yelp just revealed its top 100 places to eat in 2024, and three restaurants in the 775 made the cut.

Arario Midtown cracked the list at 26, La Condesa Eatery landed at 67, and R Town Pizza made it at 64.

"Disbelief," said Marvin Kinney, Founder and President of R Town Pizza. "It's wild actually to see this thing resonate the way that it has with people."

R Town Pizza specializes in Detroit style deep dish pizza.

However, they're a fairly new restaurant as they haven't even been open for two years yet.

The pizza joint makes everything from the dough to sauces to even their vegan options all fresh in house.

Kinney said the vision for his pizza place was for it to be community focused where families can come in, grab some pie and hang out.

When asked if believes R Town is the best pizza in town, he says that's up for the people to decide.

"I do believe in what we're doing," Kinney said. "For me to say that we're the best is not mine to say. If people want to claim that for me, I will gladly take it and I will let them, but I always think we can do a little bit more."

Kinney has only been in the Reno area for five years, as he is what he called "a transplant from Idaho", but he says the Reno community has welcomed him with open arms.

"Reno is unlike any community I have seen before," he said. "They have shown up for us in droves. You know we had our window broken out last year and somebody rolled up with wood and their family and they boarded up the window for us. I didn't even know who they were."

La Condesa, another new kid on the block, has cracked the list now two years in a row.

They also haven't been open for two years yet, so receiving this placement again, they say it's an honor.

"We are beyond grateful for the community," said Sergio Romero, Executive Chef and Owner of La Condesa Eatery.

The restaurant has a wide variety of food from Mexican, Spanish, French, Italian, and Asian cuisine.

A recognition like this, could mean for an influx of business, and both restaurants say they're ready for it.

"Last year when this happened, we got really busy," Romero said. "So now we're ready. We know what to expect from last year."

"It's definitely already starting to have a ripple effect for us," Kinney said. "We expect to be very busy this week and I'm just hoping to have enough staff for it."

R Town Pizza is looking for investors to help them expand to more locations in the community.
