A large fight involving about 50 minors at Golden Valley Park prompted two school lockdowns on Friday.

The Washoe County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating the fight which occurred around 11:30 a.m.

Deputies confirmed that a shot was fired into the ground, but nobody was hurt and no arrests have been made.

They also say the fight does not seem to be gang related.

There is no outstanding threat to the public.

North Valleys High School in north Reno has resumed normal operations after being put on a code red lockdown just before noon. Officials say the school will be let out at its normal time.

Nearby, Alice Smith Elementary School has also resumed normal operations. The school was placed on a brief code red and then a code yellow around 12:22 p.m.

Reno police, Sparks police, Washoe County Sheriff's Office and School police all responded to the scene. 

The Regional Gang Unit is helping with the investigation.

In a Connect Ed call made to families, Tomas Macaluso, Principal of North Valleys High School said, in part quote:

I want to reassure everyone in our North Valleys High School family that we are safe. I know it’s difficult to hear news like this about our school, but it’s important to remember that we hold trainings and drills throughout the year, and those procedures worked smoothly today. Our staff members and students quickly implemented emergency protocols to protect themselves and their peers, and I appreciate the fact that they stayed calm during this incident.
