Northern Nevada Children's Cancer Foundation Holds 'Know the Gold Radiothon'

The Northern Nevada Children's Cancer Foundation is holding a 12-hour Radiothon on Friday as part of their 'Know the Gold Radiothon.'

The 'Know the Gold Radiothon' started back in September. The William N. Pennington Foundation is matching contributions to the Know the Gold campaign up to $300,000.

Donations to NNCCF help northern Nevada families affected by childhood cancer by alleviating the financial and emotional burden of treatment, travel costs, medical debt and loss of income. "It allows us to provide the financial support for these families the emotional support for these families," says Lindsey Tromerhauser with the Foundation.

For the Sanchez family, the Foundation has helped them, like many others, when they were going through the unimaginable. At 11 years old Devan Sanchez was diagnosed with cancer, "you have kidney cancer and it spread to my lungs."

Devan has been cancer free for about three years now, but the Foundation continues to help out her and her family. "Once your child is healed these people never just walk away," explains Heather Sanchez, "without them I seriously don't know where we would have been."

You have until 6:00 p.m. Friday, January 25th to donate. Call 775-359-1453
